This is not what I expected.
Mentally and spiritually, the news was crushing.
I didn't expect to hear I had a partially torn ACL. In my mind, whenever I feel anything in my body like that, I stay positive and keep going. Nobody in this league plays 100% healthy. So I didn't think it was going to be what it was.
I made the Pro Bowl last year and I was expecting to be back there this year.
I wanted to go to the playoffs with Philip, Gates and the rest of the guys on the team.
I wanted that badly.
Instead, my season is done.
It's tough, but I feel God puts me in situations he knows I can handle, and I'm glad I caught this while it's still early.
If you know me, you know that I'll be back. I can handle adversity, and this is only a small setback. I'm going to hit this on the head and bounce back better than ever.
I'll have the surgery in a couple weeks and begin rehab. But first I'll be going up with the guys to Oakland, and I'll be on the sideline next week when we play the Broncos.
Right now though, this hurts. I hurt because I can't be out there for this organization, for my teammates or the fans. We've been working our asses off. My mind frame is I want to be the best at my position, and now that my season is over, I'm crushed.
But I'll be back, and I'll be back with some unfinished business.
