The San Diego Chargers suffered another blow as defensive captain Brandon Mebane will miss the rest of the season with a torn bicep. The nose tackle suffered the injury in Sunday's loss to the Miami Dolphins.
In his first season with the Chargers, Mebane posted 35 tackles, 15 pressures, six QB hits and one sack in 10 games. His 35 tackles led all defensive linemen, and he even recorded his first career interception Week 5 in Oakland. An anchor in the middle, the 6-1, 311-pound veteran was a key factor in a revitalized Chargers run defense that ranked fifth in the NFL heading into Week 10.
The 31-year old Mebane joined the Chargers in March after spending his first nine seasons in Seattle. He appeared in 142 games with 134 starts with the Seahawks, totaling 386 tackles and 15.5 sacks.
