Chargers Re-Sign DT Tenny Palepoi

The Los Angeles Chargers re-signed another versatile defensive lineman on Monday as DT Tenny Palepoi inked a one-year deal.

After missing the entire 2015 campaign due to a foot injury suffered in the opening days of training camp, Palepoi proved to be a valuable reserve last year for the Bolts.  His nine QB hits were the third most on the team while his 20 quarterback pressures ranked fourth. Palepoi also finished with 23 tackles, two tackles for loss and one fumble recovery in 13 games.

The 6-1, 298-pound defensive tackle originally joined the Chargers as an undrafted free agent out of Utah. He spent two seasons with the Utes from 2012-13, totaling 74 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks from 2012-13. The Salt Lake City native was a second-team All-Pac-12 selection and team captain his senior year.  He appeared in all 16 games as a rookie in 2013, recording 18 tackles and four tackles for loss.

Palepoi is the second defensive lineman the Bolts re-signed in free agency as they also brought back nose tackle Damion Square.
