The Bolts boasted one of the league's most electric offenses in 2016.
Now they enter 2017 with their most explosive weapon returning to the fold.
Welcome back, Keenan Allen!
After suffering an ACL injury in the first half of last year's season opener, KA13 is motivated to take the league by storm. While he was Philip Rivers' main target in recent years, he re-joins a passing attack that looks quite different than when he last took the field. The Bolts now feature another 1,000 yard receiver (Tyrell Williams), a big-bodied first round pick (Mike Williams) and last year's leading tight end in TD receptions (Hunter Henry).
How the Bolts plan to use all their weapons is anyone's guess at this point. What's certain is that KA13's presence adds another dynamic level to the offense. Training camp will allow the best look yet at how the team will deploy one of the league's most dangerous weapons.
Simply put, there is no sweeter sight than watching Allen once the ball is snapped. Known as one of the best pure route-runners in the NFL, he excels at gaining separation off the line of scrimmage.
Overall, Allen's appeared in 38 games through four seasons, catching 221 passes for 2,617 yards and 16 touchdowns. However, it's his historic start to the 2015 campaign that's impossible to forget.
The wide receiver's 67 catches through eight games were the third most in NFL history before he suffered a season-ending kidney-injury on an acrobatic TD snare in Week 8. KA13 was on pace for a 143 catch season, which would have shattered LaDainian Tomlinson's team record of 100 set in 2003. He also ranked third in the league in receiving yards at the time of his injury.
Still only 25 years old, Allen's return is a main storyline to watch as he can single-handedly take over a game.
