Kassim Osgood has found his niche in the NFL. Having made the Pro Bowl as a special teams player the past two seasons, Osgood hopes to establish himself as a regular in Honolulu. In this exclusive Q&A with NFLPLAYERS.COM, the athletic, 6-foot-5, 220-pound wide receiver and special teamer answers questions about his budding acting career, his greatest strength and his biggest weakness.

Q: Having been to the Pro Bowl, do you enjoy that experience a great deal?

A: Oh, definitely. All the guys are a lot of fun—I enjoy hanging out with all of them. There are a lot of personalities. Put them all together and it leads to a good time.

Q: What are Pro Bowl team practices like? Are they as relaxed and casual as one might think?

A: Oh, yeah. They are very relaxed. Coaches don’t want to kill anybody, but do make sure that we all know what we are doing and that we are on the same page. It’s about getting the tiny things down. Most of the receivers and the quarterbacks have to get the timing down.

Q: Is there one guy on the AFC squad you’ve kind of clicked with or bonded with more than the others?

A: Zach Thomas. We’ve had a good time singing—him, John Lynch, Pepper Johnson—those are all-time greats. I hang around all the older guys to learn something.

Q: Talk about this past season. How do you think you did individually, as well as from a team standpoint?

A: We were able to build success by feeding off each other and being able to have that nucleus that we have on our team. Those guys that have been around for a while—we’ve been working together for about five years now, we’ve built team chemistry and we were able to do a lot this year.

Q: How do you take that established chemistry and improve on things for next season?

A: Basically, that’s our glue for next year. It’s the foundation for which you set everything in motion. You have new guys coming in and they just blend in with the guys that already have the chemistry. It teaches the new guys to feed off that.

Q: What do you like to do in the offseason?

A: Acting. Auditions, because I’m trying to get in the movies as a second career. All of it; I’m just starting a second career.

Q: Are you already thinking about your life after football?

A: Definitely. I’m doing it on the side, now, while it’s hot.

Q: What type of acting have you done?

A: Mostly commercials and auditions. I did a TV show, Short Circuit, with Nick Cannon. Just small stuff right now, but I’m trying to get into bigger roles. I had Entourage last year, too.

Q: What kinds of trips do you typically take in the offseason?

A: I really haven’t gone too many places. I go down to Florida to train every offseason. It’s kind of like a vacation, but it’s mostly work.

Q: What do you think is your greatest strength on the football field?

A: Probably the reckless abandonment of my body. I just throw it out there like a piece of meat.

Q: How about your biggest weakness as a player?

A: I would say confidence—having more confidence in myself. To go out and execute the stuff I know I can do.
