Girls Flag Football | Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers, in partnership with Females in Flag Orange County and Beach City Sports, hosted their inaugural Bolts on the Beach flag football tournament in Huntington Beach. The tournament welcomed 24 girls' flag football teams and 250 athletes from across Southern California. At the end of the day, champions were crowned in the 10U, 13U, 15U, and 17U divisions.
The Conquer Chargers are the official Girls Flag Football Club of the Los Angeles Chargers. This training academy features 15 teams and 150 girls from throughout Southern California. The aim of the Conquer Chargers partnership is to promote, amplify, and strengthen girls' youth football through various means, including support that enhances their programs and special events, and unique year-round opportunities, allowing these young athletes to engage with the Chargers team and experience the excitement of professional football firsthand.
The Chargers launched their inaugural invitational to kick off the Opening Weekend of girls' flag football. This event marked a momentous occasion, serving as the first officially sanctioned girls' flag football games in the state of California. Fifteen teams from across Southern California gathered at the Chargers Training Camp Site, Jack Hammett Sports Complex, to participate in this historic event. The lineup featured eight teams from the Los Angeles area, five from Orange County, and two from San Diego, showcasing the growing popularity and inclusivity of girls' flag football. The event was co-hosted by San Juan Hills High School and sponsored by Oakley.
The Los Angeles Chargers hosted the inaugural Chargers Girls Flag Football Championship Tournament presented by Oakley, welcoming 20 of the top high school programs from throughout Southern California.This two-day tournament served as the first playoffs and championship games for the state of California and was the most recent display of the Los Angeles Chargers' commitment to the growth of the sport. The organization is set to fully embrace the activation of Flag Football in the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles following the International Olympic Committee's recent announcement designating Flag Football as an official Olympic sport.
The Los Angeles Chargers, LA Legends, and NFL Flag have collaborated to host two high school girls flag college showcases for 165 athletes from across Southern California at Serra High School in Gardena. Seven universities participated in the event, where over 100 girls have been offered scholarships to play at their respective schools at the conclusion of the showcase.
