The Los Angeles Chargers announced on Monday they signed linebacker Josh Keyes to the active roster.
The 6-2, 227-pound linebacker out of Boston College initially signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2015. Along with spending time between the Bucs' practice squad and active roster, he has additionally been a part of practice squads with the Kansas City Chiefs and Atlanta Falcons.
He was signed to the Falcons' active roster in December 2016 and has familiarity with Chargers linebackers coach Richard Smith as Smith was the former Falcons defensive coordinator. Keyes was waived/injured by Atlanta on Sept. 2, 2017 and released on Sept. 11.
Through 12 professional games played, Keyes has notched 10 total tackles.
In a corresponding move, the team waived linebacker Nigel Harris. Additionally, the Chargers released RB LeShun Daniels from the practice squad.
