Meet Vivian Pierre, our Event Operations Manager!
Tell us a little bit about what you do at the Chargers.
I am part of the Event Operations Department. My team and I help our internal teams coordinate game days at SoFi Stadium and other special events we have at the Chargers.
Did you always have a desire to work in sports?
Yes! I grew up as a competitive swimmer and knew I wanted to stay in sports one way or another.
How'd you get your start?
I began my first sport position as Team Operations Coordinator for my former swim club team. There, I got to learn how to host USA Swimming competitions and really fell in love with planning and executing events. I began hosting sporting events at 19 years old and haven't stopped since!
What is the most rewarding part of your job and why?
I love getting to help plan every small detail of an event and watch it come to life!
Tell us about a woman that has inspired you and/or impacted your career today.
My older sister played a great impact in my career. From proofreading my school essays to helping me update my resumé and setting a great example of hard work and determination.
Real or fake, dead or alive, who is one woman would you want to have dinner with? Why?
Michelle Obama, I think she's a great advocate of women's education and the significance of having a career you are passionate about.
What advice do you have for those trying to get into sports/starting their career in the sports industry?
Try as many things as possible, you never know what you will end up falling in love with. Mine was events but there are so many other departments that may be better suited for someone else, the more you try the more you'll know and grow!
