In 2014, the Chargers faced three teams in the preseason they were set to meet in the regular season.
Well, it's déjà vu all over again as the Bolts will take on three NFC West teams they'll see again in the fall.
The NFL announced the full preseason schedule today, which for the Chargers begins on the road Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals. The game marks the first time the team goes on the road for the preseason opener since 2016. A two-game StubHub Center home stretch highlights Weeks 2 and 3 with games against the Seattle Seahawks and New Orleans Saints. Kickoff for the nationally televised game against the Saints is set for 5:00 p.m. PT on Saturday, August 25 and will air on CBS. Finally, the Bolts hit the road again to take on the San Francisco 49ers. That game marks the third time in four years the team concludes the preseason with a trip to Levi's Stadium.

While the preseason is the first opportunity for the entire team to take the field, it's also one of the biggest job auditions for players vying for spots on the 53-man roster. The four-game slate has proved beneficial for players like Austin Ekeler, Jahleel Addae and Adrian Phillips amongst others who impressed as undrafted rookies to make the active roster and carve out key roles within their respective units.
Although the preseason schedule is now official, the regular season slate of games will be announced in a matter of weeks. Stay tuned to Chargers.com for more information.
