The San Diego Chargers were awarded wide receiver Jeremy Butler off waivers from the New York Jets on Monday. To make room, the team waived WR Isaiah Burse.
Butler is a 6-2, 213-pound wideout currently in his third NFL season. Initially signed by the Ravens in 2014 as an undrafted free agent, he caught 31 passes for 363 yards in eight games last season with Baltimore. He began 2016 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before being joining the Jets on October 11.
Butler played collegiately at Tennessee-Martin, catching 141 passes for 1,953 yards and 20 touchdowns. He ranks second in school history in career touchdowns, third in receptions and fifth in yards.
