Chargers linebackers Kyle Emanuel and Nick Dzubnar were guests on episode No. 12 of the Backstage: Chargers Podcast presented by Toyota.

Among the topics: their Movember mustaches; the similarities between the two friends, from being FCS linebackers to having the same college major; the leadership of Head Coach Anthony Lynn and Defensive Coordinator Gus Bradley; bouncing back against the Cardinals and more. Highlights from the conversation are below:

Emanuel on Bradley – a fellow North Dakota State alum:

"I just always heard about how good of a speaker he was; how good he was with the mental side of football, and then he came (to the Chargers) and I got to see it first hand, and it's incredible. He's an incredible human being, he really is. He's a great football coach, but he understands so much more than the X's and O's. (He understands) how guys think and just how the human mind operates. So, it's been fun, it's impressive and we always get to talk about the Bison, obviously."

Dzubnar on the selflessness in the locker room:

"I think the cool thing with our defense – as well as the whole team, but there's a whole lot of selfless guys, you know what I mean? Like, everyone genuinely wants everyone to succeed, which is really cool. You don't have the guy that wants all the spotlight. Obviously, everyone wants to make plays, but the defense that we're in, you need to do your job for the defense to succeed, and (when) you have 11 guys that do that, good things happen, so it's pretty cool."
