Presenting your 2016 San Diego Chargers.
The San Diego Chargers announced on Tuesday that they have re-signed Pierre Desir after they waived the cornerback on Saturday to make room for outside linebacker Chris Landrum. He takes Caraun Reid's spot on the active roster as the defensive tackle was placed on the Reserve-Injured list after injuring his ACL in Atlanta.
Reid made a strong impression in seven games after being claimed off waivers from Detroit mere days prior to the season opener. In Week 3, he scooped up a loose ball and returned it 61 yards for a touchdown against the Indianapolis Colts. Then, in Week 6's 21-13 win over the Denver Broncos, he drew a holding penalty in the end zone that resulted in a safety. Reid also recorded eight tackles, one sack, two tackles for loss and eight pressures.
Desir is a 6-2, 206-pound cornerback who initially joined the Bolts the same day they claimed Reid. He appeared in five games this season before being waived over the weekend as San Diego needed an additional outside linebacker active with Jerry Attaochu unable to play.
