Chargers Premium Experiences Members got the opportunity for an intimate, unprecedented deep dive inside the innerworkings of the Bolts' front office during Conversation with Playmakers on Thursday night at ROKiT Field at Dignity Health Sports Park.
Those in attendance were mere feet away from General Manager Tom Telesco and President of Football Operations John Spanos where they listened to a discussion and then, got to ask a few questions of their own.
"It was good to come out and be at this event," said Chargers Season Ticket Member Alex Pascual. "When Tom and John came out, they literally greeted us. It was fun to see it. I'm a big fan of Tom because of his history in scouting, so it was fun. You never get that one-on-one time, so it was very cool to be up close and personal with them."
With fewer than 100 days to go before Week 1, ROKiT Field at Dignity Health Sports Park already looked ready to roll for the season as it was totally gameday-ready on Thursday. Open only to Premium Experiences Members, the stadium had all the usual fare they offer on Sundays in the fall. Additionally, those attending the event were able to get a virtual reality tour of the new Los Angeles Stadium at Hollywood Park.
But along with replicating the gameday experience came duplicating many of the perks Premium Members get during the season. It's a partnership the Chargers truly value, as they see these members as extensions of their own family.
"I've had the chance to work with a number of different sports entities during my career, and I've never seen an organization like the Chargers allowing fans and customers the access and opportunity to feel like they are part of the family," mentioned Chargers Chief Revenue Officer Jim Rushton. "To talk to the head coach, head of football operations, general manager (or) alumni, it's just an incredible thing to watch. Having seen a lot of other markets across the country, to see one organization like the Chargers really stand out is great."
ROKiT Field at Dignity Health Sports Park boasts an End Zone Field Club, which includes an on-field bar and is one of just a handful of stadiums that has field seats, putting fans as close to the action on the field as they possibly could be without playing between the white lines. Telesco and Spanos spoke to this unique gameday experience, as they admitted it's one that's pretty special and hits on all the senses.
"I've been to every stadium in the league, and I've been to stadiums that no longer have pro football anymore," Telesco reflected. "There's nothing like this stadium anywhere and there won't be after this year. To be that close to an NFL team, to see the action up close, you won't have it ever again. It's been fun here. You hear the hits; it's a physical and sometimes violent game and you can hear everything (down on the field). You can hear the players; the feedback from the players. Some of it is PG and some of it's not! But that's what you get when you're that close. It gives you a chance to experience a game you can't do anywhere else."
