A new face was among the players who reported to training camp Friday morning as the San Diego Chargers signed guard-tackle Marcel Jones. To make room, the team waived center Trevor Robinson.
The 6-7, 320-pound Nebraska product was initially a seventh round selection (234th overall) in the 2012 NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints. He spent that entire year on the Reserve-Injured list with a knee injury and was a member of the Saints' practice squad for all of 2013. Jones signed with the Baltimore Ravens in 2014, and has spent parts of the past two seasons as a member of their practice squad.
Robinson spent the past two seasons in San Diego, appearing in 19 games with 14 starts.
