The Los Angeles Chargers welcomed a familiar face back into the fold on Friday, signing tight end Matt Weiser.
A 6-5, 241-pound product out of the University of Buffalo, Weiser initially signed as an undrafted free agent with the Bolts in 2016. He was fresh off a standout senior year in which he was a first-team All-Mid-American Conference selection after catching a school-record 63 passes for 625 yards. Weiser caught two passes for eight yards last preseason before being one of the last players waived during the final roster reduction.
To make room, the team waived safety Adrian McDonald, who spent all of 2016 on the Chargers' practice squad.
