Two weeks after being **named Associated Press First-Team All-Pros**, Derwin James and Adrian Phillips have been named to Professional Football Writers of America's (PFWA) 2018 All-NFL and All-AFC teams.
This marks the first PWFA honor for both players and also makes the Chargers one of only six teams to have two players represented on the All-NFL team.
James becomes the first rookie in Chargers history to make the list. Additionally, he was one of only three rookies to make the All-NFL squad. He caps off a memorable season in which he was the first rookie in franchise history to record 100-plus tackles. His 109 total tackles led the team along with his 15 passes defensed. Additionally, James finished 2018 with three sacks and three picks.
Phillips made both PFWA lists as a special teamer. The jack-of-all-trades safety was a dynamic player for the Bolts on defense but also made his presence known on special teams. In 2018, he led the team and the league in special teams tackles (19). Along with his All-Pro and PWFA honors, Phillips was also voted to his first Pro Bowl in 2018.
