Less than a month after being named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week, Desmond King can now add a new accolade to his name.
Due to his performance in the Week 13 33-30 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, King is the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week.
King provided the spark the team needed in the fourth quarter. He had a 73-yard punt return for a touchdown to tie the game 23-23 at that point, becoming the 15th player in team history to record a punt return touchdown.
Additionally, coupled with an interception returned for a score against Seattle, King became the first player since 2011 (CB Lardarius Webb) to register a punt return touchdown and a pick-six in the same season. He is just the seventh player since 2000 to accomplish that feat in a season.
