Melvin Gordon had a day for the ages on Sunday as his 261 yards from scrimmage were the third most in San Diego Chargers history.
As a result, he's been nominated for a pair of noteworthy awards.
Gordon is up for the FedEx Ground Player of the Week after rushing for 196 yards and one touchdown. He churned those yards out on 32 totes to average 6.1 yards per carry. Per Pro Football Focus, 103 of his 196 yards came after contact. Gordon's 196 yards were a career high and the ninth-most in a game in franchise history. It was also the most since LaDainian Tomlinson had 198 against the Raiders in 2007. Gordon also became the first Charger since LT in 2007 to surpass 100 yards rushing in the first half.
