The Chargers put the pads back on Tuesday and went through a physical, two-plus hour practice in El Segundo.
The Bolts will practice at 4 p.m. the next two days in preparation for Saturday's preseason opener against the Seahawks at SoFi Stadium.
Here is the Chargers Camp Report from Tuesday's practice:
1. Palmer, Stick come up clutch
The Bolts offense had been scuffling a bit of late, perhaps something that was expected with quarterback Justin Herbert not practicing.
Joshua Palmer and Easton Stick teamed up to give the offense a jolt Tuesday by connecting on a last-second touchdown in a red-zone drill at The Bolt.
The offense trailed in the drill after three series before Stick and his group trotted out for the fourth sequence. The ball was at the 25-yard line with only 40 seconds left on the clock.
Stick found Jaret Patterson for a 3-yard gain through the air before he fired a dart over the middle as Palmer outmuscled cornerback Deane Leonard in the end zone for the touchdown.
With Justin Herbert currently not practicing, Stick drew praise from Chargers Offensive Coordinator Greg Roman after Tuesday's practice.
"Easton is doing a really good job," Roman said. "There's obviously some plays he'd like to have back.
"But he does a good job understanding the offense, getting everything organized … he's off the charts there," Roman added.
Palmer's touchdown gave the offense a 15-12 win in the drill after each of the three offensive units settled for field goals on the first three series.
2. Lots of physicality
The Bolts were back in pads Tuesday after a lighter session Monday with no pads.
As a result, the physicality ramped up on a muggy afternoon.
Tight ends lined up against a multitude of defenders (edge rushers, linebackers and safeties) and went 1-on-1 in a pass-rushing drill.
Will Dissly, one of the best blocking tight ends in the league, lived up to his name with a pair of strong reps against Chris Rumph II and Alohi Gilman.
Undrafted rookie Zach Heins also fared well with a pair of wins, while Stone Smartt recovered from his first rep to win cleanly against AJ Finley on his second rep.
Defensively, Tre'Mon Morris-Brash stood out with a pair of wins, including drawing a hold on his first rep. Andrew Farmer II won his lone rep while Chris Collins earned the nod on both of his reps.
The Bolts later went to a 9-on-7 drill that focused entirely on the run game.
Khalil Mack started the drill with a tackle for loss before the offense showed signs of life with a pair of solid runs from Gus Edwards, one of which moved the chains on second-and-5.
Elijah Dotson later showed good burst while Jerrod Clark and Rumph made their presence known near the line of scrimmage on run stops.
It was a good practice for Rumph, who had a tackle for loss, a pressure and a simulated sack in team drills.
3. Dicker continues to shine
As mentioned above, the offense had to settle for field goals on their first three series of the red-zone drill at the end of practice.
But it was no sweat for Cameron Dicker, who knocked in makes from 33, 39 and 38 yards to put points on the board.
Dicker made nine of 10 overall kicks Tuesday, with a long of 48 yards that came at the end of a team drill.
His six other kicks came in a special teams period when he made from 37, 42, 40, 33 and 29 yards. His lone miss came from 44 yards out when the ball clanked off the right upright.
Dicker is now 35 of 38 on field goals in team drills during training camp.
A final note on punter JK Scott, who pinned the opposing team at the 1-yard line on a punt from midfield that was downed by Simi Fehoko.
