Los Angeles Chargers Announce 2018 Training Camp Schedule

The Los Angeles Chargers today announced 14 practice dates that will be open to the public as part of the team's 2018 training camp schedule. Held once again at Jack Hammett Sports Complex in Costa Mesa, CA, 2018 Chargers Training Camp is a non-ticketed event that is open to the public and free of charge.  

The Chargers report for camp on Friday, July 27 and will take the field for the first time at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 28. As part of the team's training camp practices, the Chargers will hold a public intrasquad scrimmage on Saturday, August 4. Time and location are still to be announced.  

For the second straight year, the Chargers will welcome the New Orleans Saints to Costa Mesa for a pair of joint practices on Wednesday, August 22 and Thursday, August 23 to conclude training camp.

Additionally, the Chargers will host a series of themed days during training camp that include: Youth Football Day (Thursday, Aug. 2), Special Olympics Day (Monday, Aug. 6), Salute to Military Day (Monday, Aug. 13), First Responders Day (Wednesday, Aug. 15) and NFL Flag Football Day (Monday, Aug. 20). The series of themed days will include reserved seating for those groups in attendance as well as special Fan Zone activations unique to the day. Chargers Training Camp at Jack Hammett Sports Complex offers fans of any age the opportunity to watch the Bolts practice in person, cheer for their favorite players within feet of the field and participate in a variety of exciting activities for the entire family. Bleacher seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no reserved bleacher seating except for a limited quantity in select sections on themed days. Also, new for 2018, more standing room space in front of the bleachers and an expanded interactive fan zone have been added to enhance the fan experience.

Opportunities for fans in attendance include:

  • Greet players in the "Hi-Five Zone" prior to practice
  • Meet players after practice and receive autographs
  • Sweepstakes
  • Enter daily at training camp (one winner per day) for the opportunity to win a select item of Chargers memorabilia.
  • Enter daily at training camp (one entry per day, winner will be announced the final day of camp) for the opportunity to win the grand prize: A pair of 2018 Chargers season tickets
  • 14 unique daily-entry sweepstakes for a select item of Chargers memorabilia
  • Enjoy interactive games for all ages, face painting and special photo opportunities
  • Meet Charger Girls and Chargers alumni

All the latest team merchandise and apparel will be available for purchase on-site at the Chargers Team Store and will feature a unique discounted item each day of training camp. Food and beverage offerings include both breakfast and lunch items, and a new picnic area will allow fans to enjoy a meal prior to, during or shortly after practice before heading home or over to the OC Fair.  

Chargers broadcast partners – including ABC7, KFMB-TV, iHeartMedia Los Angeles, Riverside and San Diego, and KFWB 980 AM La Mera Mera – will all broadcast from Training Camp practices. ABC7 will originate live segments of its newscast from Jack Hammett Sports Complex on select days and give fans the opportunity to go behind-the-scenes of a broadcast with the channel's unique, on-site pop-up news bureau. iHeartMedia Los Angeles will have a number of its popular personalities and shows from both the AM and FM dial in attendance throughout camp and will originate live programming from training camp on select days. In addition to featuring talent and live programming on-site in Costa Mesa, KFWB 980, the most listened to AM music station in the country in any language, will hold fan contests on select days of camp.

# Joint practice with the New Orleans Saints

Gates to Jack Hammett Sports Complex will open one hour before the start of each practice session. Parking is available at the OC Fair and Events Center parking lots off Arlington Drive for $10. Parking is valid for the entire day should fans wish to attend the OC Fair following practice. There will also be a dedicated location for rideshare service drop-off and pick-up adjacent to Jack Hammett Sports Complex.

Fans may bring their own food, water and soft drinks, however alcoholic beverages may not be brought into Jack Hammett Sports Complex at any time. Smoking is not allowed at Chargers Training Camp.

Fans are welcome to bring personal cameras and cell phones, but video cameras and telephoto lenses longer than six inches (detachable or non-detachable) are not allowed. Other items not permitted at Jack Hammett Sports Complex include: pets (other than service animals), weapons of any kind, water guns, fireworks, frisbees, sports balls, beach balls or other inflatable objects, laser pointers, flammable objects, musical instruments or noise-making devices.
