Chargers 2025 Mock Draft Tracker 4.0: Who to Pick at No. 22?

Mock Tracker

The Super Bowl is in the books, which means the NFL Scouting Combine is rapidly approaching.

The Bolts hold the 22nd overall pick in the draft and currently have eight selections. The draft will be held in Green Bay from April 24-26.

Take a look at who draft analysts have the Bolts selecting at No. 22 overall.

The opinions, analysis and/or speculation expressed below represent those of individual authors and do not represent the opinions or policies of the Chargers' organization, front office staff, coaches and executives.

Daniel Jeremiah, NFL.com – RB Omarion Hampton, North Carolina

The Chargers desperately need to give Justin Herbert more offensive firepower. Hampton would hit a lot of home runs in this offensive system.

Josh Edwards, CBS Sports – OL Tyler Booker, Alabama

Los Angeles fortifies its protection of Justin Herbert with the selection of Tyler Booker, who is the fourth first-round pick on that offensive line. The Chargers could still use a tight end, but the Chargers are one step closer toward building an offense in Jim Harbaugh's image.

Jordan Plocher, Pro Football Focus – RB Omarion Hampton, North Carolina

Hampton would give head coach Jim Harbaugh a powerful runner to build his offense around. The North Carolina product breaks tackles regularly and averaged 4.35 yards after contact per attempt in 2024.

PROJECTED TRADE: Chargers trade up to No. 16

More tight end mania! Jim Harbaugh isn't about to let his fellow Michigan Man slide to the Bengals. The Bolts snag another pass-catcher for Justin Herbert, sending Arizona a first-, third- and fourth-round pick in this year's draft, along with a 2026 fourth-rounder, in exchange for the No. 16 pick and a 2025 fifth-rounder.

Joel Klatt, Fox Sports – DT Kenneth Grant, Michigan

Last updated: February 12, 2025

Here's what's fascinating: Jim Harbaugh has already seen three of his former Wolverines stars picked in this draft. I don't think he'll allow another Wolverine to get past him, especially when that guy is Grant. No one knows Grant better than Harbaugh and defensive coordinator Jesse Minter. They might not need defensive help, but those guys told me that Grant might be the best of the Michigan players in the long haul. We know Minter and Harbaugh want to build a run wall defensively, and drafting Grant would help that. Grant's upside is huge and I think he'll be a great pro.

Kyle Crabbs, The 33rd Team – WR Matthew Golden, Texas

Last updated: February 17, 2025

Los Angeles has a lot to be excited about after Jim Harbaugh came in, installed a competitive program and changed the outlook of the Chargers' defense seemingly overnight. There's lots of youth in a lot of spots for the Chargers but getting more out of QB Justin Herbert is something this team can aspire for after he posted a career low in passing yards per game (227.6). Boosting the wide receiver room with Matthew Golden should help — as it would give the Chargers a trio of receivers with different talents and skill sets between the previously mentioned Golden, dangerous slot receiver Ladd McConkey and big-bodied Quentin Johnston.

Ben Rolfe, Pro Football Network – WR Matthew Golden, Texas

Golden is an explosive wide receiver and has the potential to impact the game in a multitude of ways. He has all the speed and agility you could ask for and combines that with crisp route running, excellent hands, good ball-tracking skills, and the ability to win contested-catch situations. His biggest knock is run blocking, but as an outside receiver in this system, that should be a relatively minor issue

Pick No. 55: DT Deone Walker, Kentucky

Pick No. 71 (Projected Trade): CB Denzel Burke, Ohio State

Kyle Dvorchak, NBC Sports – EDGE Jalon Walker, Georgia

Last updated: February 11, 2025

Walker is a strange evaluation because he played primarily off-ball linebacker at Georgia but did his best work as an on-ball pass-rusher. He led the Bulldogs with 6.5 sacks and 34 pressures despite ranking seventh on the team in pass-rush reps. Listed at 6'2/245, Walker also lacks true EDGE size. Still, the talent is undeniable.

Rob Rang, Fox Sports – TE Colston Loveland, Michigan

Last updated: February 11, 2025

Jim Harbaugh has long prioritized the tight end position, even going back to his playing days... Averaging a career-low 10.6 yards per reception in 2024, Loveland likely won't generate first-round buzz from the analytics crowd, but Harbaugh will know him well and the 6-foot-5, 245-pounder possesses the soft hands and balance through contact to be a monster in the middle in the NFL.

Daniel Harms, Draft Network – RB Ashton Jeanty, Boise State

Last updated: February 16, 2025

Let's lean into the Jim Harbaugh aura. An Ashton Jeanty/Chargers connection could be the perfect match for one of the most successful collegiate rushers of all time... Jeanty would bring the physicality, mentality, and toughness Harbaugh craves. It just makes too much sense.
