The Chargers can secure a playoff spot this weekend in Year 1 under Head Coach Jim Harbaugh.
The Bolts can clinch with a win Saturday in New England.
"Win the next game, that's our mindset," Harbaugh said this week.
The Chargers can also clinch a spot this weekend if the Colts and Dolphins lose or tie.
As it stands, the Bolts hold the No. 6 seed in the AFC and would travel to play the Ravens in Baltimore.
In terms of seeding in the AFC, the Bolts are guaranteed to be either 5, 6 or 7 if they get in.
Here are seeding scenarios for the Bolts:
No. 5 seed
The Chargers can rise to the 5th seed if they win their final two games and Pittsburgh loses in Week 18 to Cincinnati. If the Bolts end up with the No. 5 seed, they would play the Texans, the AFC South champions who are locked into the 4th seed.
No. 6 seed
If the Bolts remain where they as the No. 6 seed are over the final two games, they would play the No. 3 seed, which is likely to be the AFC North winner.
Note: if the Chargers win Saturday and the Broncos lose to the Bengals, the Bolts are guaranteed to at least be the No. 6 seed in the playoffs.
No. 7 seed
And if the Chargers drop to the 7th seed, the Bolts would likely be in line for a Wild Card round matchup in Buffalo. The Bills can secure the No. 2 seed with a win or tie this weekend.
