Due to his stellar season, Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers has been named a finalist for the FedEx Air Player of the Year award.
In 2018, Rivers helped guide the Bolts to a 12-4 record and inked his eighth Pro Bowl honor. He finished the regular season completing 347 of 508 passes (68.3 percent) for 4,308 yards and 32 touchdowns. He joined Peyton Manning, Drew Brees and Tom Brady as the only quarterbacks in NFL history with 10 seasons of at least 4,000 passing yards. Additionally, he tied his personal best with a 105.5 passer rating on the year.
Rivers faces stiff competition against Brees as well as Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes. Fans can vote for number 17 by clicking here, or through the Twitter poll via @NFL. FedEx will donate $20,000 to the USO in the winning player's name. The donation will be used to support the USO, a military support organization dedicated to connecting service members and their families to family, home and country throughout their service to the nation.
Voting is open through Thursday, Jan. 31, at 12:00pm PT.
