We continue the series with a scouting report of Ohio State LB Darron Lee.

Position: Outside Linebacker
NFL Network Pro Comparison: Zach Brown

Speed kills off the edge in the NFL.

That was never more apparent than last season with the number of edge rushers wrecking games each week.

As a result, Darron Lee is poised to be a high pick come April 28.

The Ohio State product posted the fastest 40-yard dash time at the Combine for an outside linebacker with a blazing 4.47, which is tied for the top mark at the position since 2007. After redshirting the 2013 season with the Buckeyes, Lee transitioned from safety to outside linebacker in 2014 and totaled 81 tackles, 16.5 tackles, 7.5 sacks and two interceptions. He was named Defensive MVP of the Sugar Bowl that year as he tallied seven solo tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks against Alabama.  Lee ranked second on the team the past two seasons with 27.5 tackles for loss and 12 sacks, trailing only fellow prospect Joey Bosa.

The athletic 6-1, 232-pound terror off the edge prides himself on production.  Quick to diagnose the play, scouts rave about his smooth, fluid hips which help him not only flock to the football, but also thrive in coverage. With a premium placed on pressuring the quarterback, Lee is a safe bet to be an early selection come draft day.
