The Chargers will be the No. 5 seed in the playoffs after getting a 34-20 win over the Raiders in Week 18.
The Bolts will now play the Texans in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs.
Here is a game recap from Week 18.
First Quarter
Justin Herbert, Derwin James, Bradley Bozeman, Khalil Mack, J.K. Dobbins and Cameron Dicker were the Chargers captains. The Bolts won the toss and elected to defer. The Chargers started on defense and forced a quick three-and-out but the Bolts offense also went three-and-out to start the game. The Bolts defense forced another three-and-out before the offense moved into Raiders territory after a 37-yard pass to Quentin Johnston.
But a third-down sack thwarted the drive as the Chargers tried a 51-yard field goal that Dicker pushed wide to the left. Las Vegas drove into Chargers territory and got on the board first with a 40-yard field goal. Down 3-0, the Bolts offense picked up a chunk play when Herbert hit McConkey for 47 yards to get into the red zone.
The Chargers couldn't convert on third down, however, as Dicker even the score at 3 with a 33-yard field goal late in the quarter.
Second Quarter
The Chargers fell behind 10-3 early in the second quarter when the Raiders scored on a 25-yard touchdown pass. Herbert hit Johnston for 22 yards to open the Bolts ensuing offensive drive and get into Las Vegas territory. The Chargers faced third-and-1 at the Raiders 39 but Herbert's QB sneak was stopped short. He tried it again and moved the chains for a first down. The Bolts later converted on third-and-2 to get into the red zone before Dobbins converted again on third-and-2.
But the Chargers couldn't find the end zone as a holding call wiped out a Herbert touchdown pass before the Bolts settled for another field goal to make the score 10-6. The Chargers defense forced another three-and-out before Herbert moved the Bolts down the field through the air with completions to Johnston, Will Dissly and McConkey. But the Chargers offense couldn't find the end zone once again as Dicker's 49-yard field goal cut the deficit to 10-9 late in the quarter. Daiyan Henley then made a clutch splash play with the first interception of his career off Aidan O'Connell.
The Bolts took advantage of the takeaway as Herbert found DJ Chark on a 6-yard touchdown pass. It was Chark's first score of the season on just his fourth catch. McConkey added the 2-point play as the Bolts took a 17-10 lead into the half.
Third Quarter
The Chargers began the second half with the ball and put together a lengthy drive that only ended in three points. The Bolts moved all the way down to the Raiders 1-yard line but were stopped on three straight run plays before Dicker kicked a 20-yard field goal for a 20-10 lead. Las Vegas drove into Chargers territory on its ensuing drive but the Bolts came up with a third-down stop that led to a Raiders field goal with just over two minutes to play in the quarter. Up 20-13, the Bolts moved to midfield as Johnston came up big with a third-down reception. The Chargers crept into Las Vegas territory as the quarter came to a close.
Fourth Quarter
The Chargers added to their lead early in the quarter as Herbert made plays on the ground and through the air. First, he ripped off a 41-yard run to put the offense inside the Raiders 5-yard line.
Herbert then added to the Bolts lead by finding Dissly for a 2-yard touchdown pass as the Chargers took a 27-13 lead.
The Chargers defense kept the Raiders at bay in the fourth quarter by forcing a turnover on downs in the red zone. Johnston then continued his monster game with a 39-yard reception down the left sideline on one of the best catches of his young career.
Hassan Haskins added to the lead with a 2-yard touchdown run that put the Bolts up 34-13. The Chargers ended up with a 34-20 win as the Bolts will be the No. 5 seed and play the Texans in the Wild Card Round.
