Chargers Select Florida Defensive Back Trikweze Bridges in Round 7 of 2025 NFL Draft

16x9 (1)

The Chargers selected Florida defensive back Trikweze Bridges in the seventh round (No. 256 overall pick) in the 2025 NFL Draft on Saturday.

Bridges is listed at 6-foot-2 and 196 pounds.

Here is what The Athletic's Dane Brugler's said about Bridges:

Overall, Bridges has the tools and versatility to match up with size at receiver, and his impressive testing likely guaranteed him a long look in an NFL training camp.

The selection of the 24-year-old Bridges gives the Bolts an intriguing young player in the cornerback room. He will battle for a roster spot as a special teamer and joins a group that includes Donte Jackson, Tarheeb Still, Cam Hart and others.

Bridges spent four years at Oregon before transferring to Florida for his final college season.

He appeared in all 13 games in 2024, making seven starts at both cornerback and safety.

"I see myself as both," Bridges said on Saturday. "One of the safeties that could come down, play man to man or play zone.

"Do whatever it takes to put the team in a better position and get off the field, give the offense the ball back," he added.

Bridges tallied 70 tackles (38 solo) with two interceptions, six pass breakups, a tackle for loss and two forced fumbles.
