The Chargers got after it Friday with a fully-padded practice that lasted more than two hours.
The Bolts have an off day Saturday before Sunday's 11 a.m. joint practice with the Rams.
Here is the Chargers Camp Report from Friday's practice:
1. Plenty of takeaways
Jim Harbaugh said Thursday that it was a "really impressive" effort from the defense.
The Chargers Head Coach had to be encouraged again Friday after the unit dominated once again, with the highlight being three interceptions in team drills.
Linebacker Troy Dye concluded practice with a takeaway on the final play of a team period, marking the third straight day the defense has ended practice with an interception.
Matt Hankins had an interception Wednesday while Tarheeb Still had a pick-6 to wrap up Thursday's session.
And while Dye didn't get a pick-6, fellow linebacker Nick Niemann did earlier in practice that sent the defense into a wild celebration.
Max Duggan's pass for Brenden Rice was initially broken up by Cam Hart as Niemann corralled the pigskin in the air and raced about 50 yards for the score.
Kristian Fulton also continued his strong camp with an interception in a 2-minute drill.
Fulton's takeaway came when Easton Stick's pass was tipped at the line of scrimmage as Fulton outmuscled a crowd of players for the interception.
While the defense won that sequence, the offense got points on the board in the next 2-minute session as Cameron Dicker came on to hit a 45-yard field goal.
Dicker made six of eight total kicks Friday, with both misses coming from 50-plus.
He missed a 55-yarder in a team drill before the Chargers went to a special teams period where Dicker then hit from 55 yards away.
His ensuing 53-yard try was wide before he rallied to make his next three kicks from 48, 45 and 41 yards. Dicker later hit a 40-yard field goal and has now made 26 of 28 field goals in camp.
2. Swarming in the red zone
The Chargers spent a practice period focused on 7-on-7 work in the red zone for the second straight day.
The drill went entirely to the defense as the unit prevented the offense from getting either a first down or a touchdown on 12 straight plays.
The defense made an initial stop before Ja'Sir Taylor broke up a pass in the end zone intended for DJ Chark. After another stop, Asante Samuel, Jr. nearly had a pick-6 of his own but settled for a pass breakup near the goal line.
Young defensive backs AJ Finley and Still then denied touchdowns with tight coverage in the end zone.
The ensuing sequence then included a completion short of the sticks, two plays that would have been sacks and a pair of incompletions.
The final play of the period featured a pass breakup from Niemann on Simi Fehoko in the end zone.
3. Odds and ends
Stick's best throw of the day was a 30-yard touchdown to a wide open Hayden Hurst in a team drill.
There was good competition between between running backs/linebackers and tight ends/edge rushers in a pass blocking/rushing drill.
There was a noticeable THUD when Gus Edwards (6-foot-1 and 238 pounds) collided with Denzel Perryman (5-foot-11 and 240 pounds). Edwards and Daiyan Henley later had a good rep against each other.
Jaret Patterson had a pair of strong reps at running back while J.K. Dobbins held his own against Henley.
Defensive players who stood out were Dye, Niemann, edge rusher Savion Jackson and linebacker Shane Lee.
Wide receivers and cornerbacks also went through 1-on-1 drills inside the red zone.
Rookie Cornelius Johnson got on the board for the receivers as he used a good release off the line to create space for a back-shoulder catch in the end zone.
The highlight of the day came from Joshua Palmer on the final play of the drill from the 3-yard line. Palmer hauled in a goal-line fade in the back corner of the end zone for the score.
Defensively, Taylor, Still and Samuel broke up passes.
