What the Raiders are Saying about the Bolts

Notable comments from the Oakland Raiders in the lead up to the Week 17 match vs. the Los Angeles Chargers.

On spoiling Chargers' playoff hopes…

"We talk about it as going out and having fun; ringing in the new year with nothing like beating a division rival…  Obviously, what we have is one more game, one more opportunity as a group of men to be together and fight for each other, and that's what we're going to do." – Head Coach Jack Del Rio

"My mindset is to prepare like I always do and just go lay it all out there like I always try to. I'm pumped up to play against a division rival. They have a lot that they're playing for and we want to go in there and finish the season with a win. That's the most important. We just want to go in there and get a win against a really good football team." – Quarterback Derek Carr

On preparing for Philip Rivers…

"You have to keep preparing our team to line up and go play with certain formations, the certain routes that they do. The run game, they run it at a high level. Whiz (Chargers offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt) does a hell of a job of their run to pass ratio. Their play actions look like their runs. It's going to be a big challenge. Like I said, Philip plays at a high level. He sees everything and knows everything. We have to make sure we're on top of our game. Especially this week." – Assistant Head Coach – Defense, John Pagano

On Chargers offense…

"Philip Rivers has obviously been doing it at a high level for a long time.  He's a good football player with a lot of explosive passes down the field.  Keenan Allen had a tremendous season.  (Melvin) Gordon is a very good back.  Their rush is as good as any in the league.  It's a good football team and should be a good game." – Head Coach Jack Del Rio

On differences in Chargers from Week 6 to now…

"(I've seen) quite a bit.  They've done a nice job winning five of the last six keeping themselves alive with playoff hopes." – Head Coach Jack Del Rio
