The Chargers decades-long commitment to honoring and supporting our country's military heroes, past and present, continued as the organization expressed its gratitude for the sacrifices of active-duty service members, veterans and their families during its annual Salute to Service game against the Tennessee Titans in Week 10, 2024

On Saturday, November 2nd, the Los Angeles Chargers welcomed active military personnel from across Southern California to their training facility for the Battle of the Bases flag football tournament. In a spirited day of friendly competition, teams representing the Marines from Camp Pendleton, Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, the Air Force from Edwards Air Force Base, and the Coast Guard clashed in an exciting display of camaraderie, athleticism, and honor. Ultimately, Marines Camp Pendleton's took home the championship title.

The Bolts teamed up with Verizon a couple of weeks ago at U.S. Vets in Long Beach once again as part of their Salute to Service outreach in the community for a great cause that's aimed to elevate women veteran's technological capabilities.

The Bolts partnered with Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation and Walk With Sally to host the 7th Annual Boo at the Bolt Halloween event for children and families impacted by cancer. Hosted at The Bolt, Chargers Head Coach Jim Harbaugh, General Manager Joe Hortiz, kicker Cameron Dicker and more joined in on Halloween activities that featured a puppy party, face painting and a special book reading.

UCLA Health cancer survivors and thrivers who have undergone or are currently in treatment for various types including prostate, breast, lung and colorectal cancer – along with their families and caregivers – had the opportunity to tour The Bolt and participate in a meet and greet with the team post-practice to bring awareness to all forms of cancer diagnosis.

The Bolts and many volunteers gathered at U.S. Vets Long Beach this past Sunday as part of their Salute to Service outreach in community. Sunday's event featured a beautification event for the Bridge Housing Women's (BHW) Program, which is on-site at the location. The program serves the unique needs of women transitioning out of homelessness and empowers veteran women on their journey towards stability and independence.

The Los Angeles Chargers hosted a special, hour-long breathwork session on the field at The Bolt for UCLA Health Jonnson Comprehensive Cancer Center patients and survivors. Participants had the opportunity to engage in mindful and relaxing breathwork with Chargers K Cameron Dicker, WR Brenden Rice, and Sarah Harbaugh, wife of Head Coach Jim Harbaugh. This event helped foster a sense of community, relaxation, and self-care for participants, while celebrating their strength and resilience.

The Snoop & Housh Flag League, created by the Chargers Impact Fund in partnership with Snoop Dogg and TJ Houshmandzadeh, celebrated its Opening Day this past weekend. Open to boys and girls from kindergarten through 8th grade, the league serves youth from across the Los Angeles area, with locations in El Segundo and Cerritos. The event marked the official start of the league's second season, featuring t-shirt giveaways, performances by the Thunderbolts drumline, and appearances by TJ Houshmandzadeh at both locations.

The Chargers and Oakley hosted their 2nd Annual Girls Flag Football Invitational Tournament, featuring 16 of the top teams and 350 athletes from across Southern California. The two-day tournament served as an opening weekend celebration for the start of the girls' flag football season, now entering its 2nd officially sanctioned season in California. The tournament crowned two division champions: Esperanza High School took home the banner for the Gold Division, while Orange Lutheran High School won the Powder Division.

The Chargers hosted a group of youth from the nonprofit Friendship Foundation for a special high five tunnel to welcome the team to Training Camp practice. The Friendship Foundation supports families and children or young people with special needs and has been supporting the South Bay for over 17 years. All the youth invited got to meet the players, Coach Jim Harbaugh and watch practice.

The Chargers, in partnership with Nike, hosted their 4th Annual 11ON event for 28 of the top high school girls' flag and tackle football programs from across Southern California. During this two-day event, over 750 athletes, their coaches, and families attended the Hoag Performance Center, where the teams competed in individual and team competitions to crown a champion for each day.

Before the Chargers' team practice at Camp Pendleton, the team hosted a free clinic for children of military personnel. Chargers legend Corey Liuget was on hand as the event welcomed 150 boys and girls ages 5-14 and focused on teaching the fundamentals of flag football.

In a corresponding move, the team signed safety Tony Jefferson to the active roster from the practice squad. Nearly 150 local Girl Scouts came together for a day of flag football skills and fundamentals on the Bolts' training camp fields at Jack Hammett Sports Complex.

In partnership with the Los Angeles Chargers Impact Fund, Inglewood Unified School District, and Brotherhood Crusade, SoFi celebrated the graduation of 14 young scholars from the Bolt Academy program. The program is designed to offer juniors and seniors from Inglewood high schools the opportunity to participate in a six month after-school program to develop leadership and job-readiness skills.

In corresponding moves, the team waived safety AJ Finley and placed tight end Hayden Hurst on Reserve/Injured. The Bolts also elevated safety Tony Jefferson and outside linebacker Caleb Murphy from the practice squad for Monday's game.

He fills the spot on the 53-man roster vacated by yesterday's release of tight end Eric Tomlinson. Tomlinson has since been signed to the practice squad.
