Katie Sylvan enters her second season with the Chargers after joining the club as the director of football administration in March 2022. She comes to Los Angeles after a nine-year tenure working on behalf of the National Football League with the NFL Management Council, which represents the NFL and its clubs in negotiations with the NFL Players Association. During her time with the Management Council, she served as an expert in matters pertaining to the salary cap and NFL player contracts, and she also served as an instrumental part of the team that negotiated and executed the 2020 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Sylvan got her start in the NFL in 2013 through the league office's junior rotational program, where she worked in labor finance and broadcasting. Following the two-year program, Sylvan started in the NFL Management Council, where she most recently served as director of labor operations (2021-22), and previously served as senior manager of labor operations (2019-21), manager of labor operations (2016-19), and coordinator of labor operations (2015-16).
Sylvan graduated from Harvard University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in East Asian Studies. While at Harvard, she played on the varsity women's golf team, during which time she was named Ivy League Rookie of the Year and first-team All-Ivy League. She earned a Juris Doctor from Fordham Law School in 2022 while working for the league office and is licensed to practice law in California.
