Salvador Lopez enters his first season as the Head Athletic Trainer for the Los Angeles Chargers in 2023. He comes to the Bolts after spending five years with the Tennessee Titans.
Lopez most recently was the Director of Sports Rehabilitation for the Titans in 2022, where he was responsible for managing all long-term and short-term rehabilitation programs for players. He originally joined the Titans as an assistant athletic trainer in 2018 after working in a similar capacity for the University of Louisville football program for two seasons (2016-17).
Professionally, he sits on the Executive Committee of the Professional Football Athletic Trainers Society (PFATS) and is currently the organization's secretary. He also works with the PFATS Foundation, serving on the internal education committee.
Additionally, he is a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He is a Performance Enhancement Specialist and Corrective Exercise Specialist through NASM. He is an FMS Level 2 Selective Functional Movement Screening provider. He has also gained manual therapy training for the lower extremity, Functional Range Release certified, through FRS.
Lopez was a seasonal athletic trainer with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2015 after earning his master's degree from the University of South Florida and serving as a resident athletic trainer for the football and tennis programs. He also was a student athletic trainer from 2011-13 at Fresno State while earning his bachelor's degree and was a summer athletic training intern for the Raiders in 2012.
