Tyler Lyon joined the Chargers as a training camp intern in the summer of 2014 and has worked his way into the scouting department. Lyon began his first season as an area scout in 2018 and will serve his first season as the assistant director of pro scouting in 2023.
After his training camp internship, Lyon was hired as a full-time intern in 2015 and served as the team's College Scouting Coordinator from 2016-17.
Lyon graduated with a law degree in 2014 from the University of San Diego Law School and holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona in economics and philosophy.
A native of Valencia, Calif., Lyon played quarterback at Hart High School and earned a scholarship from Arizona. He also played baseball during his prep career.
Lyon is the son of Gabi and Chuck Lyon. His father, Chuck, was the Athletic Director at College of the Canyons in Valencia, Calif., where he was also the head football coach from 1998-2006. Lyon and his wife, Brittany, have a daughter, Kennedy.
