The San Diego Chargers signed Michigan product James Ross on Tuesday, adding a sixth rookie into the mix at linebacker. Safety Matt Daniels (leg) was placed on the reserve-injured list, freeing up a spot on the 90 man roster.
The 6-1, 232-pound Ross was a non-contract participant at San Diego's Rookie Mini Camp earlier this month after spending four years in Ann Arbor. He appeared in 50 games with 21 starts for the Wolverines, totaling 188 tackles, 16.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, two forced fumbles and two passes defensed.
