Fans attending the Chargers' home game on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to help San Diego families in economic distress and help reinforce the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank’s dangerously-low food supply.
The parking lot gates open at 9 a.m. and entrance gates open at 11:35 a.m. Bright red collection barrels with red balloons will be positioned throughout the parking lot. The most needed items are canned meats, peanut butter, canned fruits and vegetables, pasta and soup. Volunteers will also be collecting cash donations at tables located at Plaza Level Gates C and F.
Fans who cannot attend the game can still help by donating items in red collection bins located in VONS supermarkets throughout the county.
