The Chargers on Tuesday were awarded three compensatory picks in the 2025 NFL Draft.
The Chargers gained two additional picks in the sixth round and one in the seventh round and now have a total of 10 selections in April's draft.
The additional picks — all of which are on Day 3 — means the Bolts have extra draft capital to work with in the back half of the draft.
The Chargers have one pick in each of the first five rounds but now have four sixth-rounders and one in the seventh round.
Compensatory picks are awarded based on a formula involving the previous year's free agency period.
The Chargers, for example, lost linebacker Kenneth Murray, Jr. in free agency in 2024 to the Titans on a multi-year deal. The Bolts were then awarded a comp pick for him because of the monetary value of the deal Murray signed, and because the Chargers didn't sign a free agent to an equal financial contract.
