Najee Harris has arrived in Los Angeles.
The running back, who agreed to terms with the Chargers on Wednesday, met with local media members on Friday.
Here are five takeaways from Harris' press conference:
1. The perfect match
Harris said Friday that he has a few teams to choose from in free agency.
But there was a central figure — Jim Harbaugh — that drew him to the Bolts.
Harris, who grew up in the Bay Area, recalled following the Chargers Head Coach at his previous NFL stop.
"Playing for Harbaugh," Harris said when asked what attracted him to Los Angeles.
Harris later added: "Watching him at the 49ers … I liked to see how he handled his team and what he did with that, you know? I kind of see similarities in this team, just their offensive guys and what they're doing here. The type of team that they are … they're on the rise to me."
The Chargers went 11-6 and made the playoffs in Harbaugh's first season at the helm.
The goal now is to build on that success in Year 2 while staying focused on the core principles — including toughness and physicality — that Harbaugh wants his team to be about.
"I'm pretty sure that they have that identity here. And I just want to be a part of that," Harris said. "The identity here is obviously to play hard-nosed football.
"Harbaugh being with the 49ers and Michigan, and even here, you kind of see his style of game," Harris added. "Obviously, he's running the ball. But obviously building around the quarterback, too. What they've got in [Justin] Herbert … I think that's what it starts with, the quarterback position."

2. History with Harbaugh
This will be Harris' first time playing for Harbaugh.
But the two nearly crossed paths almost a decade ago when the running back was split between choosing Michigan or Alabama.
Harris recalled a funny story how Harbaugh showed up to Antioch High School to recruit Harris, one of the country's prized running backs. It just so happened to be the school's homecoming game.
"He took the mic in front of everybody and called out the homecoming queen," Harris said. "I just look back and I was just like, 'What the heck? The dude is coming out here doing everything.'
Harris later added: "It was kind of cool the way he did that."
Harris eventually ended up at Alabama, where he won a pair of national titles. But it was clear Harbaugh left a strong impression on him, something the two caught up on earlier this week.
"Even talking on the phone, he's the same guy," Harris said. "We sat down chopping it up and went out to eat dinner.
"It's the same guy. Energetic, man. He's the life of the party," Harris added. "He's just a good guy to be around. He makes you feel comfortable."
And if it sounds like things have come full circles, Harris agrees.
"My family was telling me that, too, how crazy it is," Harris said. "First you see him coach and then we met him in high school. Playing for him, it is full circle."
3. A durable workhorse
Harris has been among the league's most durable players since he entered the league in 2021.
Harris has appeared in all 68 regular-season games, plus three playoff contests, over the past four seasons in Pittsburgh.
The 27-year-old has been productive, too, as he the only active player in NFL to have at least 1,000 rushing yards in each of the last four NFL seasons.
So, what's the key to Harris' durability?
"Just training, you know," Harris said. "I always try to do the little things in the offseason. Certain times you got to be in the weight room. And then sometimes I try to spend a good amount of times working on the small muscles.
"Maybe swimming, doing little small things that the weight room can't provide to work on the smaller muscles. And it translates to the field," Harris added. "I stretch and do yoga, all that stuff, all that plays a part in how to stay durable and last long."
4. Big fan of The Bolt
As mentioned above, Harris starred at Alabama, one of the nation's most prestigious college football programs.
Harris on Friday made a comparison between Alabama and The Bolt, the Chargers state-of-the-art practice facility that opened in June.
"First of all, the facility is all great things," Harris said. "There are a lot of things that they provide here. I just want to take advantage of it.
"I was just telling them that it's not like this everywhere. This is a special thing. It reminds me of college at Alabama, all the resources that they have," Harris said. "So just getting the chance to take an opportunity, take advantage of all this opportunities. This is a blessing."
Harris said he wasted no time getting to work, too, as he has already met Ben Herbert, the Chargers Executive Director of Player Performance.
"I just actually got two workouts in yesterday and today, so I know [him] well by now," Harris said with a laugh.
5. Do-it-all running back
Harris is listed at 6-foot-1 and 242 pounds, and has proven he can tote the rock.
The veteran running back has forced 299 total missed tackles since 2021, according to Pro Football Focus, which is the most among all NFL players in the past four seasons.
But roughly a quarter of those missed tackles forced have come on receptions. Harris said Friday to not overlook his contributions in the passing game, where he has 180 career catches for 1,149 yards and six scores.
"I'm a versatile back," Harris said. "The receiving game, I feel like it doesn't go noticed enough. I'm just all-around back."
