The Chargers on Monday announced they are bringing back punter JK Scott and center Bradley Bozeman.

Both players agreed on a contract extension with the Bolts ahead of the 2025 New League Year.

Here's what the moves mean for the Bolts.

JK Scott

Scott has been a weapon for the Chargers over the past three seasons as his hangtime has allowed the Bolts to be one of the league's top punt coverage units under Ryan Ficken.

Pro Football Focus tracked his average hangtime at 4.65 seconds, good for second in the league.

Scott averaged 41.9 net yards per punt in 2024 and had 28 punts downed inside the 20-yard line, good for 10th in the NFL. He also finished the season with the fourth-highest PFF punt grade (84.0).

Scott also holds tremendous value as a holder alongside long snapper Josh Harris and kicker Cameron Dicker.

Dicker has made 89 of 95 field goals since arriving in Los Angeles midway through the 2022 season, which is the top mark in the league.

You can bet Scott's clutch ability has played a role in that, even if it goes oftentimes goes unmentioned.

Overall, keeping the trio of Dicker, Scott and Harris together is a win for the Chargers and Ficken.

The Los Angeles Chargers agreed to terms on a multi-year contract extension with punter JK Scott. Scott has a career average of 45.1 yards per punt. In the 2024 season, he averaged 46.7 yards per punt.

Bradley Bozeman

Nobody played on the roster more overall snaps for the Chargers last season than Bozeman, who logged 1,057 regular-season snaps plus 56 more in the playoffs.

Both Chargers General Manager Joe Hortiz and Head Coach Jim Harbaugh singled Bozeman out at their year-end press conference for his toughness and durability.

Bozeman made a tangible impact on the locker room in 2024, his first season in Los Angeles, as he was voted a team captain by his peers. This was before Bozeman infamously stood out for Justin Herbert against the Saints after a dirty play.

Now the question becomes what role does Bozeman play in 2025?

He started all of the Chargers 18 total games at center but Hortiz said at the 2025 NFL Combine that guard Zion Johnson has began getting offseason work there and could switch positions.

Bozeman could serve as a mentor to Johnson during that possible transition and could start there if needed.

But Bozeman also played both left and right guard in the past when he was with Chargers Offensive Coordinator Greg Roman in Baltimore.

At the least, Bozeman will once again be counted upon as a leader in the offensive line room. But his specific role is to be determined and will likely unfold this offseason and in training camp.

The Los Angeles Chargers agreed to terms on a multi-year contract extension with center Bradley Bozeman. Bozeman has appeared in over 113 games in his career. In the 2024 season, he played in all 17 games.
