Saturday's 2025 NFL Combine drills saw plenty of fireworks as quarterbacks, running backs and wide receivers took the field in Indianapolis.

Even with the top prospects at each position not participating, there were plenty of big names who looked to further make their mark and push themselves up draft boards.

That group included the likes of North Carolina running back Omarion Hampton, Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson and Texas wide receiver Matthew Golden, all of whom made a strong case to do just that.

Saturday was also the final day of media sessions, with the offensive linemen taking the podium.

It was headlined by LSU's Will Campbell, Missouri's Armand Membou and other top prospects who are projected to go on Day 1.

But Alabama guard Tyler Booker also caught some eyes, as the top-rated guard prospect made his case as the top offensive lineman in his class.

"I love football because the brand of football I play," Booker said on Saturday. "I make guys not love football anymore."

He later added: "My tenacity and my relentlessness makes me the best offensive lineman in this class. What you see on play one is what you're going to see on play eight. I'm always trying to finish, I'm always trying to put you on your back."

The Main Takeaway

Much has been said by NFL Draft pundits about how deep the running back class in this year's draft.

If Saturday's Combine workouts were any indication, it has an argument to also be the fastest.

A total of 14 running backs ran a sub-4.50 second 40-yard dash on Saturday, according to Next Gen Stats, which is the most in the last three years. There were only seven in 2023 and eight in 2024.

It was Virginia Tech's Bhayshul Tuten who led the group with a 4.32-second run, as his 1.49-second 10-yard split also topped the position. Tuten was also impressive on the afternoon leading the running backs with a 40.5-inch vertical jump.

The biggest name of the afternoon for the running backs in Indianapolis was Hampton, who once again strengthened his case as one of the top two running backs in the class.

Hampton ran a strong 40-yard dash of 4.46 seconds to go along with the third-highest broad jump of the day at 10-foot, 10-inches.

What was more impressive was Hampton put on this performance after measuring in at 5-foot-11 and 221 pounds, earning him a Relative Athletic Score of 9.93. It ranked 14 out of 1909 running backs since 1987.

Henderson was also another big name running back who showed off his speed on Saturday.

The Ohio State product, who is NFL Network Daniel Jeremiah's third-highest ranked running back, hit a top speed of 23.38 miles per hour. It was the second-highest speed among all running backs.

Among other running backs who put together strong performances were Ohio State's Quinshon Judkins, Iowa's Kaleb Johnson and UCF's RJ Harvey.

Even with all the speed in the running back group, the fastest run of the day came from the wide receiver group.

Golden, who is Jeremiah's second-highest receiver and No. 22 overall, ran a blazing 4.29 second 40-yard dash, which was the highest of the day. He reached a top speed of 23.57 miles per hour according to Next Gen Stats and surely helped his case in the wide receiver hierarchy of the draft.

Missouri's Luther Burden III also hit the field, as one of the top prospects of the day ran a 4.41 second 40-yard dash and also was fluid during his gauntlet drill.

In terms of other wide receivers who turned heads, it was a pair of pass catchers from Iowa State in Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel, who each helped their own stock with their performances.

Higgins proved to be one of the bigger receivers in the class at 6-foot-4 and 214 pounds, and ran a sub-4.50 second 40-yard dash, a great mark for someone at his size.

Meanwhile, Noel ran his 40-yard dash in 4.39 seconds and was first among the receivers in the broad jump (11-foot, 2-inches) and vertical jump (41.5 inches).

Tweet of the Day

There's something about Texas Longhorn wide receivers and the 40-yard dash in recent years.

Next Gen Stats put out quite the stat about the Texas receivers over the last two years, as they've been able to showcase their speed in Indianapolis.

A Peek Ahead

Sunday marks the final day of on-field workouts with the offensive lineman, who will take the field at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The workouts will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. PT and will be the final group up at this year's Combine. The event will officially conclude on Monday after the offensive linemen complete the bench press.
