The Chargers may have lost Sunday night, but they earned the respect of the football world following a 19-17 loss.
That includes Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, who had some praise for the Bolts coming off of the primetime game.
On the latest episode of the New Heights podcast with both Kelce brothers, Travis and Jason, the younger Kelce detailed what he noticed from the Chargers on Sunday night.
"I think the Chargers a [freaking] hell of a [good] football team," Travis Kelce said. "[Jim] Harbaugh’s got those guys playing their tail off, with a lot of heart."
That includes, of course, Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert who's stellar play in the second half brought the team back from a 13 point deficit.
Herbert finished the game 21 of 30 passing for 213 yards and a touchdown while also extending his streak of passes without an interception to 335.
Safe to say, the brothers were impressed.
"You can't tell me Justin Herbert isn't one of the [freaking] quarterbacks in the National Football League," Travis Kelce said.
Jason Kelce added: "He's balling this year, he's had some games. He can sling that pill."
At 8-5, the Bolts got themselves well-positioned for a playoff berth, currently as the No. 6 seed in the AFC.
And they have the potential to make it tough on opponents in January.
"They got that thing figured out right now," Travis Kelce said. "They're playing really, really good football right now and they played us pretty tough both times we got them."
Jason Kelce added: "With Harbaugh getting there, it feels like some of that swagger is back with that team."
