The Los Angeles Chargers today agreed to terms with tight end Tyler Conklin.

A former fifth-round pick by Minnesota in the 2018 NFL Draft (157th overall), Conklin has started 64-of-114 career regular-season games with the Vikings and New York Jets. He has been one of football's most consistent tight ends, as he's one of just four players at the position to top 50 catches and 400 receiving yards in each of the last four seasons. Conklin's 231 receptions since the start of the 2021 season rank No. 8 among all NFL tight ends. Over his seven-year career, he has hauled in 263 receptions for 2,544 yards (9.7 avg.) and 11 touchdowns.

Conklin lettered three seasons at Central Michigan (2015-17), earning third-team All-Mid American Conference honors in 2017. He totaled 83 receptions for 1,159 yards (14.0 avg.) and 11 touchdowns in his three seasons for the Chippewas. Conklin began his collegiate career playing basketball at Northwood University in 2013 before transferring to Central Michigan in 2014.
