Joe Alt Leads AFC Tackles in Early Pro Bowl Voting

Alt Buzz Pro Bowl

Joe Alt is living up to the billing in Year 1 — and the NFL is noticing.

The NFL released the balloting for the 2025 Pro Bowl Games after one week of voting on Monday afternoon, with the No. 5 overall pick leading the tally among AFC tackles.

He is sixth overall among tackles, only behind players in the NFC.

It's easy to see why Alt is getting the recognition, too.

The Chargers first-round pick has been stellar so far in his rookie season, with no shortage of high-level opposition on the other side.

Alt ranks first among all rookie tackles in Pro Football Focus' offense grade (78.1), run blocking (75.3) and leads all rookie offensive lineman in pass blocking grade (76.3).

He's also only allowed 15 total pressures on 396 pass blocking snaps and allowed more than two pressures in a game just once in his 11 games.

Alt was drafted in the top five for his potential to become a top tackle in the NFL — and he's shown why in his rookie season.

"I'm proud of him. I love the way he attacks the game," Chargers General Manager Joe Hortiz said about Alt back in October. "But we expected him to be great. And I expect him to get even better."

There were also a handful of other members of the Chargers to appear in the voting tallies released by position.

Linebacker Daiyan Henley came in ninth among inside linebackers, fifth in the AFC, in the voting as he has held down the middle of one the better defenses in the NFL so far. He leads the Bolts with 114 total tackles, good for seventh-most in the league.

Kicker Cameron Dicker was also listed among kickers coming in fourth overall and third in the AFC. Dicker has continued to play as one of the best in the league, knocking 27 of 29 kicks and a stellar eight for nine from over 50 yards.

Finally, the other member of the Chargers to crack the Top 10 was fullback Scott Matlock who has played in all 12 games as the fullback in his first year at the position. He came in eighth in the NFL and fifth in the AFC.

Fans can vote as often as they would like to help determine the 88-man roster and send the league's best players at each position to Orlando for the Pro Bowl Games until Dec. 23 across a variety of platforms, including ProBowl.com/Vote and on the Chargers website.
