Khalil Mack is back.
The Chargers on Monday announced they agreed to terms on a contract extension with future Hall of Famer, keeping the veteran in the powder blue for his fourth season.
Mack has become a key staple of the Bolts in recent years, becoming one of the most crucial leaders of the team on and off the field since the moment he arrived.
It's why keeping him in Los Angeles has drawn some high praise around the league.
Pro Football Focus gave the Bolts an ‘elite’ grade for the deal, citing Mack continuing to produce at a high level even after 11 seasons.
PFF wrote:
First and foremost, it lines up with their winning window, which is only now opening with a good outlook for the next few seasons. Mack also earned an elite 90.2 PFF overall grade in 2024, the seventh 90.0-plus mark of his career. He will be 34 years old for the 2025 season but is clearly still worth the price needed to bring him back.
On the field, he's tallied 31.0 sacks in three seasons on the Chargers, the ninth-most in the league during that span. He's also recorded 49 quarterback hits, 39 tackles for loss, 21 passes defensed, nine forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.

Not to mention, the 34-year-old continues to produce as he finished second on the Bolts with 6.0 sacks and led the team in quarterback pressures with 54, according to Next Gen Stats.
Mack was also elite against the run as he finished the season with the second-highest PFF run defense grade among edge rushers at 88.0.
Whatever way you look at it, the veteran is still producing, which is why his return to the Chargers earned an ‘A grade’ from SB Nation.
