The Los Angeles Chargers today announced the addition of Adam Fuller as safeties coach to Head Coach Jim Harbaugh's coaching staff.

Fuller brings 27 years of coaching experience to the Bolts after spending the past five seasons as defensive coordinator at Florida State (2020-24). With the Seminoles, he coached 14 eventual NFL Draft selections, including 2024 Associated Press Defensive Rookie of the Year Jared Verse. In 2023, Fuller's unit helped propel Florida State to a 13-1 record and an Atlantic Coast Conference title, finishing the season as the sixth-ranked team in the nation. That year, the Seminoles boasted one college football's best pass defenses, leading the country in opponent completion percentage (48.3) and pass breakups (80) while ranking sixth in opponent passing efficiency (103.83). The unit allowed just eight passing touchdowns in the regular season, ranking tied for No. 4 in the nation.

Prior to his time at Florida State, Fuller spent the 2019 season as defensive coordinator at Memphis, helping coach the Tigers to a program-record 12 wins, including their first outright conference championship since 1969 and a Cotton Bowl appearance. The defense ranked 20th in the FBS with a team passing efficiency rating of 115.36 while recording 18 takeaways and returning two for touchdowns.

A native of Tewksbury, Mass., Fuller was a four-year letterman (1994-97) at Sacred Heart University, where he earned All-America honors at linebacker in 1996 and was a team captain as a senior. Following his playing career, Fuller joined the coaching ranks at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, coaching linebackers for the Engineers in 1998. He then spent six seasons (1999-2004) in a variety of roles at Wagoner College before moving on to a three-year stretch (2005-07) at Richmond University, helping the Spiders win a pair of conference titles.

Fuller was the head coach at Assumption College in 2008 before his four years as defensive coordinator at Chattanooga (2009-12). After leading the Mocs defense, Fuller spent six seasons in a variety of roles at Marshall University (2013-18), helping the Thundering Herd to four Bowl appearances and a Conference-USA Championship. Since entering the coaching ranks nearly three decades ago, Fuller developed and coached players to nearly two dozen All-America recognitions and a total of 70 all-conference selections.
