The Los Angeles Chargers on Tuesday signed center Andre James.
Here are five things to know about James:
1. Staying in the AFC West
James is staying in the division.
The veteran center joins the Bolts after spending 2024 with the Raiders.
James started 11 games for Las Vegas last season and suited up as their center for all of his snaps.
He gave up two or fewer pressures in eight out of those 11 games, according to Pro Football Focus.
He finished the 2024 season eighth among all interior linemen in ESPN's pass-block win rate at 96 percent.
2. Veteran center
The 27-year-old has plenty of experience since coming into the league as an undrafted free agent in 2019.
James has played a total of 89 games, starting 60 of them as Las Vegas' center, over six seasons.
He fully took over the starting center role with the Raiders during the 2021 season and has put together a Pass Blocking Efficiency of 98.0 throughout his career, according to PFF.

3. Career year in 2023
James' best season of his career came in 2023, where he emerged as one of the most reliable centers in the league.
He got the start in 16 games that season, posting career-bests all across the board in PFF grades.
James ranked eighth among all centers with at least 500 snaps that season with a 74.6 offense grade and 71.2 pass-blocking grade, and was 10th with a 75.0 run blocking grade.
4. Back in Los Angeles
James is coming back to Southern California, where he spent his college days as a Bruin.
The offensive lineman was a four-year player at UCLA, where he started 32 games at a variety of positions.
He first took over the right tackle spot for seven games in 2016 before assuming the position full time the following season. Then in his final year of college during the 2018 season, James flipped and held down the other side at left tackle.
5. Hails from Utah
Aside from being a four-star recruit out of Herriman High School in Utah and an all-state player by some media outlets, James also excelled in another sport during his prep days.
James was a member of the track and field teams at his school and was a multiple time state champion in shot put, surpassing the 61-foot mark during his senior year.
