Los Angeles Chargers kicker Cameron Dicker was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week by the league office. It marks his third career Special Teams Player of the Week honor.
Dicker, the most accurate kicker in NFL history by any player with at least 90 attempts (94.6 pct.), continued his excellence in the team's 40-7 victory over New England, helping the Bolts clinch a playoff berth. He finished the game with 16 points scored, leading all NFL kickers in Week 17, by making all four field goal attempts and all four extra points — becoming the first AFC kicker in over three years to score more than 15 points by making at least four field goals and four-plus extra points.
The Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year nominee has made a career-best and single-season franchise-record 35 field goals on 37 attempts this season, good for a league-leading field goal percentage of 94.6 (min. 25 attempts). He recently made the first fair catch free kick field goal in almost 50 years, a 57-yard attempt that has sparked the team to outscore opponents 64 to 13 since then.
Dicker previously won Special Teams Player of the Week in 5 of the 2022 season (NFC with Philadelphia Eagles) and Week 9 of the 2022 season (AFC with Los Angeles Chargers). He also was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Month for December/January with the Bolts in the 2022 season en route to All-Rookie recognition by the Professional Football Writers of America.
