The Los Angeles Chargers today placed linebacker Junior Colson and wide receiver Simi Fehoko on Reserve/Injured and signed wide receiver Jalen Reagor to the active roster from the practice squad. He fills the spot on the 53-man roster vacated by yesterday's release of tight end Eric Tomlinson. Tomlinson has since been signed to the practice squad. Additionally, linebacker Shaquille Quarterman was signed to the practice squad and tight end McCallan Castles was released from the practice squad.
A 2020 first-round selection (21st overall) by Philadelphia, Reagor has started 25-of-59 regular-season games for the Eagles, Minnesota Vikings, New England Patriots and Los Angeles Chargers. In three games with the Bolts this season, Reagor has hauled in four receptions for 76 yards (19.0 avg.) and contributed on special teams. He's hauled in 82 career passes for 1,013 yards (12.4 avg.) and four touchdowns, while adding 99 rushing yards on 20 carries (5.0 avg.). In a pair of postseason games, Reagor has made a start and hauled in a two-yard reception.
A native of Waxahachie, Texas, Reagor played three years (2017-19) at TCU, ultimately earning second-team All-America recognition as a punt returner in his final season in Fort Worth, Texas. He saw action in 39 career games for the Horned Frogs, posting 148 receptions for 2,248 yards (15.2 avg.) and 22 touchdowns along with 324 rushing yards and a pair of scores on 35 attempts (9.3 avg.). Reagor returned 23 punts for 409 yards (17.8 avg.) and a pair of touchdowns, both of which were recorded in 2019.
Tomlinson came into the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2015 and has started 56-of-93 career games (including postseason) with the Jets, Giants, Patriots, Raiders, Ravens, Broncos and Chargers. He appeared in eight games this year with the Bolts, making a start and recording a pair of catches for nine yards (4.5 avg.). Over his career, Tomlinson has registered 289 yards and three touchdowns on 29 career receptions (10.0 avg.). Over four seasons (2011-14) at UTEP, Tomlinson hauled in 59 passes for 547 yards (9.3 avg.) and four touchdowns for the Miners, earning honorable mention All-Conference USA recognition three times.
A 2020 fourth-round selection by Jacksonville, Quarterman appeared in 69 total games (67 regular season, two postseason), including the first three games of this season with the Bolts and one game with the Carolina Panthers. Over his career, Quarterman has totaled 29 tackles (16 solo), a tackle for loss, a forced fumble and 26 special teams tackles in the regular season, while also adding a defensive stop in the playoffs. He played collegiately for four seasons (2016-19) at Miami, appearing in 52 games for the Hurricanes and posting 292 tackles (182 solo), 13.0 sacks, an interception, 13 passes defensed, two forced fumbles and five recoveries. Quarterman was a first-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection in 2018 and a second-team choice in 2017.
