Khalil Mack, Derwin James Jr., and Rashawn Slater to Represent Los Angeles Chargers at 2025 Pro Bowl Games

On The Wire (NEW)

The National Football League today announced the Los Angeles Chargers will be represented by outside linebacker Khalil Mack, safety Derwin James Jr., and tackle Rashawn Slater at the 2025 Pro Bowl Games in Orlando.

Mack has been named a Pro Bowler for the ninth time in his career, including his second-straight as a starter for the AFC. The defensive captain has been a disruptive leader for the Los Angeles defense, recording 6.0 sacks, 15 quarterback hits, six tackles for loss, nine pass breakups, a pair of forced fumbles and a recovery. Mack now has registered six-plus sacks in 10 consecutive seasons, the longest active streak in the NFL. His versatility has been on display in 2024, as Mack is the only NFL player this season to have at least five sacks and nine passes defensed.

Now a four-time Pro Bowler, James ranks second on the team with 90 tackles (58 solo) this season, adding single-season career highs in sacks (5.5) and tackles for loss while also recording six pass breakups, an interception and a fumble recovery. The Swiss-Army Knife of the Los Angeles defense, James is the only defensive back in the NFL this season to have 85 tackles, three sacks, an interception and five passes defensed. He posted a pair of sacks on fourth down in the team's Week 17 win over New England to clinch a playoff berth, the most fourth-down sacks by a defensive back in a single game since sacks became an official stat in 1982.

Slater was named to his second Pro Bowl, earning his previous Pro Bowl recognition as a rookie following the 2021 season to be the first rookie tackle selected as an all-star in 10 seasons. In 15 starts in 2024, Slater helped keep quarterback Justin Herbert upright to throw for more than 3,500 yards and 21 touchdowns to just three interceptions — the fewest interceptions thrown by any NFL quarterback this season. Slater was part of a line that protected Herbert to set all-time records for completions (1,917) and passing yards (20,717) through the first five seasons of a career. As a unit, the Los Angeles offense has turned the ball over just nine times in 2024, on pace for the third-fewest in a single season in NFL history.

Roster selections are determined by the consensus votes of fans, players and coaches. Each individual group's vote counts one-third toward determining the 88 all-star players. The NFL is the only sports league that combines voting by fans, coaches and players to determine its all-star teams.
