Los Angeles Chargers Team Up with Pepsi for the "Kickoff in Style" Sweepstakes Merchandise Collaboration

on the wire

For the first time, the Chargers and Pepsi will launch unique co-branded merchandise as part of their "Kickoff in Style" sweepstakes.

This 2024 NFL season, the Los Angeles Chargers and Pepsi are teaming up to launch the first-ever "Kickoff in Style" sweepstakes, running from August 12 through October 31. The two culturally iconic brands joined forces to co-design an exclusive line of merchandise, blending football, fashion and entertainment in a way that only the Chargers and Pepsi can – all to offer Bolts fans the opportunity to celebrate the season while looking their best.

Consumers will get the chance to truly "kick off in style" this 2024 season by entering to win never-before-seen, limited edition Pepsi/Chargers gear including tees and sweatshirts inspired by LA's bold street style. The grand prize includes tickets to a Chargers home game and additionally features a one-of-a-kind pair of co-branded kicks created by Jake Danklefs, renowned custom sneaker designer and founder of Dank and Co., footwear design company. Danklefs' designs have been spotted on many Hollywood stars including Post Malone, Jay-Z and Billie Jean King.

"We're excited to partner with Pepsi on a fashionable campaign such as 'Kickoff in Style,'" said A.G. Spanos, Chargers President of Business Operations. "At the Chargers, we're always open to new and innovative collaborations and this one, with Pepsi, as a first-of-its-kind, is right up our alley. We can't wait to show off the vogue co-branded merchandise with our fans and be part of this unique sweepstakes."

The sweepstakes coincides with Hispanic Heritage Month, celebrated from September 15 through October 15. To honor this, prizing will also include merchandise with co-branded Pepsi and Puro Chargers marks along with various Hispanic-inspired designs. The initiative aims to celebrate the rich contributions of Hispanic Americans to the culture and history of the United States – especially prominent in Los Angeles.

"As a brand with a robust partnership with the Chargers and deep roots in Southern California, Pepsi is proud to be part of the Bolt Fam," says Marisa Bartning, Senior Director, Marketing, PepsiCo Beverages North America, West Division. "We're thrilled to offer fans the chance to kick off the 2024 Chargers season in exclusive merch you won't find anywhere else, while also celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month – a cultural moment that's especially important in our Los Angeles community."

Adding to the excitement, Pepsi will unveil "The Vault," an interactive walk-in locker, at the Chargers vs. Chiefs game on September 29 – the Bolts' designated Latino Heritage-themed game. Fans attending the game are invited to stop by for a chance to unlock special surprises.

About The Los Angeles Chargers

Now in their 65th season in Southern California, the Chargers continue to stretch the imagination and put on the most exciting show in football. But don't let the idyllic West Coast setting and iconic powder blue uniforms – widely regarded as the NFL's best – fool you. Behind the dramatic games, unforgettable highlights, beloved players and groundbreaking performances lies an uncompromising drive for success; one rooted in toughness, resilience and good old-fashioned hard work. Established in Los Angeles in 1960 as a charter member of the American Football League, the team played in San Diego from 1961 to 2016 and advanced to five of the first six AFL Championship games, capturing the 1963 title. Joining the National Football League when the two leagues merged in 1970, the Chargers have since claimed an additional 10 division titles and appeared in Super Bowl XXIX. Owned by the Spanos family since 1984, the Chargers returned to Los Angeles in 2017, opened their multi-billion-dollar SoFi Stadium home in 2020, moved into their new quarter-billion-dollar El Segundo training facility in the heart of Los Angeles' South Bay in 2024 and continue to redefine what an NFL franchise looks like in the 21st century.
