Los Angeles Chargers el jueves anunciaron que firmaron a J.K. Dobbins.
Aquí hay cinco cosas para saber sobre Dobbins:
1. RB veterano
Los Chargers hicieron otra incorporación a su sala de corredores el viernes por la tarde.
Dobbins, una selección de segunda ronda de 2020 (numero 55 en general), fue el quinto corredor seleccionado en su clase después de una dinámica carrera universitaria.
Jugó en 24 partidos los cuatro años anteriores en Baltimore, corriendo para 1,347 yardas y 12 touchdowns.
Dobbins ha promediado 5.8 yardas por acarreo desde 2020, la marca más alta de cualquier corredor en la NFL (mínimo de 200 intentos terrestres) en ese lapso.
También fue capaz de ser un arma en el aire, atrapando 27 pases para 177 yardas y un touchdown.
2. Reunión de backfield
Las reuniones continúan esta temporada baja para el Coordinador Ofensivo de los Chargers, Greg Roman.
Dobbins estuvo con Roman durante las primeras tres temporadas de su carrera con los Ravens y pudo tener éxito bajo el mando del jugador.

3. All-American en el estado de Ohio
Dobbins pasó a ser uno de los mejores corredores que Ohio State jamás haya visto.
El corredor de tres años terminó su carrera en Buckeye como uno de los jugadores más exitosos en la historia de la escuela y el único jugador en correr para 1,000 o más yardas como estudiante de primer, segundo y tercer año.
Se ubica como el segundo mejor corredor terrestre de todos los tiempos de la escuela con 4,459 yardas y también estableció el récord terrestre de todos los tiempos para estudiantes de primer año con 1,403 yardas en 2017.
Y culminó durante la temporada 2019 cuando se convirtió en el primer corredor en la historia de la escuela en superar la marca de las 2,000 yardas, terminando con 2,003 yardas y 21 touchdowns.
Esto lo llevó a terminar sexto en la votación del Trofeo Heisman y tercero en el país en yardas terrestres y touchdowns camino a una selección All-American del primer equipo.
4. Ganador del premio Campbell
Dobbins culminó su carrera universitaria con un premio que honró su ética de trabajo duro tanto dentro como fuera del campo.
Fue galardonado con el premio Earl Campbell Tyler Rose 2019, en honor al mejor jugador ofensivo de la División 1 de fútbol americano que también exhibe las "características duraderas que definen a Earl Campbell, como integridad, rendimiento, trabajo en equipo, espíritu deportivo, impulso, comunidad y tenacidad; específicamente, tenacidad". 5. Jugador dominante de Texas HS
Antes de que Dobbins pasara a los libros de récords de Ohio State, era una máquina de touchdown en La Grange High School en Texas.
El dinámico corredor acumuló 71 touchdowns durante su carrera en la escuela secundaria y terminó con 5,149 yardas terrestres durante sus primeras tres temporadas en la escuela.
E incluso a pesar de jugar sólo un partido en su temporada senior debido a una lesión, fue un recluta de cuatro estrellas y estuvo entre los 50 mejores de su clase de reclutamiento esa temporada.
