Los Angeles Chargers llegaron a un acuerdo el miércoles con el esquinero Benjamin St-Juste.

1. Contribución al equipo que llego a playoffs en 2024
El esquinero de 27 años se une a los Chargers tras ayudar a los Commanders a alcanzar el Campeonato de la NFC.
St-Juste jugó los 17 partidos de la temporada regular, siendo titular en 14 de ellos y consiguiendo un total de 71 tacleadas, la mejor marca de su carrera.
Añadió siete pases defendidos y un balón suelto forzado, además de participar en los tres partidos de playoffs de los Commanders.
2. Tiempo en Washington
St-Juste aporta profundidad y mucha experiencia de juego al equipo de esquineros de los Chargers.
Ha participado en 54 partidos (45 como titular) a lo largo de sus cuatro temporadas en la NFL y ha acumulado 206 tacleadas (162 en solitario), 34 pases defendidos, 3.0 capturas de mariscal y una intercepción en su carrera.
Y si bien pasó la temporada pasada principalmente como esquinero de afuera, jugó un total de 500 jugadas defensivas en el slot durante las temporadas 2022 y 2023 según Pro Football Focus.

3. Reencuentro con Harbaugh
St-Juste ahora será entrenado por su primer entrenador universitario, Jim Harbaugh, quien lo reclutó para Michigan en 2017.
El esquinero debutó como freshman ese año, jugando 12 partidos, principalmente en equipos especiales.
Ahora en Los Ángeles, Harbaugh tiene otra conexión con Michigan en los Bolts.
4. Gran oportunidad en Minnesota
Tras su paso por los Wolverines, St-Juste tuvo su gran oportunidad con otro equipo de la Big Ten, Minnesota, donde jugó dos años para los Gophers.
El cornerback jugó los 13 partidos y fue titular en nueve de la temporada 2019, registrando 45 tacleadas (36 en solitario) e igualando el récord del equipo con 10 pases desviados.
Obtuvo una Mención Honorífica All-Big Ten esa temporada y jugó su última temporada universitaria en Minnesota en 2020.
5. Originario de Canadá
St-Juste es originario de Montreal, Quebec, Canadá, donde creció y se convirtió en uno de los mejores candidatos para el fútbol americano universitario.
Asistiendo al Cégep du Vieux Montréal y a múltiples campamentos de fútbol americano universitario, se convirtió en una promesa de cuatro estrellas y en el jugador número uno de Quebec.
